The Association of Nepali Teraian in America (ANTA) and Madheshi Diaspora in North America is shocked by the news of the killing of the Madheshis by Nepal Police on March 6, 2017. This incident is continuation of the series of the discriminatory actions against traditionally marginalized Madheshisby the Nepal Police and ruling political leaders of Nepal. Use of excessive force and violation of human rights has become routine practices against Madheshis in Nepal.
Enough is Enough! These killings and frequent human right violation must stop by the government of NEPAL. Treat Madheshi’s like Human Being!! ANTA condemns these cowardly actions and systematic discrimination by the government of NEPAL. These kinds of action will continue to increase grievances and discontentment of the Madheshis.
ANTA expresses heartfelt condolences to the aggrieved families whose relatives have been killed and injured in this incident.ANTA also calls on the government to insure proper medical treatment of the injured and provide compensation for the aggrieved families.
ANTA calls upon International Communities, United Nations, and Human Rights Organizations to put pressure on government of Nepal to insure observance of Human Rights and proper conduct of security forces. Violators of Human Rights must be brought to the international court of Justice.
Madheshis around the world must unite to fight for justice..
